Found through a quiet Daikanyama dealer who keeps her Y2K Coach archive in a back room above the shop, lined up by colour like a paint swatch wall. Coach Madison Maggie in the Op Art sateen finish — the same hobo silhouette as the patent versions everyone is collecting, but cut from the sateen-finish fabric with the oversized C-print, finished with deep red patent leather trim and silver ring hardware.

The body is clean across both sides, the sateen still has its quiet sheen, and the patent on the handles and gussets has held its colour without crackling or stickiness — the part that gives most of these away when they age badly. Original Coach hangtag and creed patch both intact, the creed reading clearly with the matching No.F0973 production stamp.

Late-2000s Coach Madison is the era collectors keep circling back to — proper leather, proper hardware, made before the brand pivoted toward saturation. Pink Op Art is the harder colourway to find in good condition; most got dragged through one too many summers and lost the contrast. This one didn't.
