We sourced this from a small archive dealer in Fukuoka's Tenjin district — one of those quiet shops where everything is logged in a paper ledger and nothing leaves without provenance. Mid-2000s Coach Madison, the Op Art signature tote with the chain-link strap detail that flagged the bag as Coach's elevated line.

Black on black: tonal Op Art jacquard panelled with smooth leather, finished with the brass horse-and-carriage plate and the original swing tag. The silver chain links between strap and ring are tight, untwisted, and unscratched. The interior lining is clean throughout.

Madison-line Coach is the moment when the house was reaching upward — better hardware, better trims, better silhouettes. This one reads quietly luxe rather than logo-loud, which is exactly why it ages well.
