Purple Op-Art Tote Bag

We pulled this one from a private collector in Naples' Spaccanapoli — the kind of small flat where one wall is bookshelves and the other is a rotating handful of bags she's quietly cycling through. A Coach Gallery tote in the rare op-art colourway: warm sand jacquard with the Coach C's printed in a saturated, almost ecclesiastical purple, finished with violet leather handles and trim.

The signature canvas is clean across the body — no peeling, no shadowing — and the violet trim has aged with only the most honest softening at the handles where it sits over the shoulder. The interior is in proper working condition with light marks consistent with normal carrying. Nickel hardware, original Coach plaque, all intact.

Op-art Coach in this exact two-tone is one of the most under-priced collectible runs from the era — a colourway that's almost impossible to find clean and almost never appears in the larger Gallery silhouette. Roomy, unrepeatable, and increasingly hunted.
